Thor’s Lightning Adventure Gear

Thor’s Lightning Adventure Gear are a Colorado-based eCommerce business, which sells air management systems for adventure activities – including multi-tyre air systems, rapid tyre inflation systems, portable air compressors, and much more!

They primarily sell their products through their website, as well as their Amazon Store, however, the latter was not delivering the volume of sales they needed to be sustainable.

In January 2023, they sought the help of Add People’s Marketplaces Team…

The Challenge

The main challenge the team was facing to get TLAG’s Amazon store back on track, was a saturated market.

Coming up with strategies and tactics to get TLAG to stand out amongst their competitors was going to be absolutely critical to success.

Furthermore, Amazon’s continually changing algorithm meant the team would need to remain diligent in monitoring the latest trends and updates, to ensure TLAG’s visibility would not be compromised on Amazon.

Our strategy

Marketplaces Account Manager, Emily McLaughlin, took the lead on this campaign and had a clear strategy right from the outset to get TLAG the results they were yearning for.

Firstly, Emily began by delving deep into the data on their Amazon Ads account, this helped her identify key areas that needed addressing and highlight opportunities for growth going forward.

Extensive keyword research was also undertaken – this would help Emily to optimise TLAG’s adverts to appear for higher-intent searches (when people were more likely to complete a purchase) and also significantly boost the visibility of their brand and products on Amazon.

Additionally, in order to make TLAG more competitive, Emily implemented an automated email follow up which encouraged customers to leave reviews of their products.

This increased the strength of their products on Amazon and the level of trust in potential customers when browsing their products – further increasing the likelihood of making a purchase.

From the beginning of this campaign and to the present day, advanced analytics tools were adopted enabling Emily to manage the account at a more granular level, and helping her really understand what would drive the most return for TLAG.

Based on this insight, Emily allocated the budget more effectively and shifted resources to the highest-performing ads – making TLAG’s ad campaigns more profitable.

The results

The results have been staggering and so rewarding to see – it’s exactly why we do what we do!

Since partnering with Add People in January 2023, they’ve seen a remarkable increase in their Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), soaring from 200% to an impressive 1,000% by March 2024.

March 2024 was also a record-breaking month for Thor’s Lighting Adventure Gear, seeing a 674% boost in sales from their Amazon ads.

Visibility has also significantly improved, with their ads now appearing in the top search results over 92% of the time.
