What better way to show you the benefits and the life of an apprentice than to give a first-hand account review from one?
Meet Ben, one of our apprentices at Add People who is specializing in content and SEO. He joined us last year in January & since has made massive progress, both with his apprenticeship & his office work. Here’s what he has to say for how his apprenticeship is going so far:
“I had the choice of university, a full-time job or an apprenticeship at the end of 2018. After weighing up the pros and cons, I decided on an apprenticeship with Add People because it put me straight onto a career path of an industry that you usually need a degree to enter into. This meant that instead of going to university and being committed to a course for three years, if at the end of my apprenticeship I decide to do something else, then I’ve only lost one year as opposed to three. I can also say on my CV that I’ve been working in an office environment for the past year, instead of spending one in a potentially irrelevant university course.
I’d recommend an apprenticeship because it provides a nurtured experience; instead of getting thrown in the deep end, I had time to learn and develop my skills in a low-pressure environment. I could actually put these skills to work myself too, as opposed to the work in university which is largely theoretical – in this position, I am getting first-hand experience in my dream job.”
